Heat Wave

We were ambitious today. After church, I met up with the ladies for brunch at 7A in the East Village. Our only requirement for brunch is complimentary mimosas.

I stole a few bites of C’s whole wheat pancakes with strawberries and strawberry butter.

K’s huevos rancheros with scrambled eggs looked bright and fresh over on the other side of the table.

Then, we were off to the Brooklyn Flea Market. In 90 degree heat under a cloudless sky. The sun beat down on us ferociously. We tried to ignore the oppressive weather as we roamed around the tents, poking through mountains of vintage jewellery.

After an hour, the heat began to take us down one by one. It was still worth the sticky hair, sweaty backs, and fire engine red faces. We each found a few unique trinkets to take home. L snatched up this quirky typewriter key ring. Definite favorite.
